Actually learning Chinese and able to speak Chinese isn’t very hard. A few tips below will help improve your Chinese skills step by step.

- You need to find a motive why you want to learn Chinese, and how long, how often you speak Chinese? E.g. : My colleague wanted to be a part time translator so he signed up for a Chinese course. My student had a Chinese girl friend and wanted to communicate with her and her parent in Asia. It all depends what motivates you to learn Chinese and always remember your motive.

- Use 20 minutes a day, to learn new words and practice the previous chapter, pronounce it out loud so you’ll remember them.

- Find a local group, or friends who are able to speak Chinese, go out with them more often and learn from them. You need a partner so you can improve your oral skills.

- Learn to speak and understand Chinese is easy, but writing and pronounce it accurately would be the harder part.

- There’s no faster way to master Chinese Language, because it has totally no connection with French, Italian or Spanish. Chinese characters itself has more than 3000 kinds of it and each has its own meaning. Combining 2 character will form another meaning. So what’s the best way to learn Chinese?

First, you need to know what category you want to be, I’ve divided learning Chinese into 3 category.

Category 1 – Beginner. If you just want to know a little bit about Chinese language, very basic conversation, and you won’t be using Chinese in your working environment. E.g. : Travelling.

Category 2 – Intermediate. You want to use Chinese Language as a verbal communications with your love one, family, and friends or even at work, but you won’t know how to read.

Category3 – Professional. You are doing business with Chinese in China, or you lived there and need to pick up the language ASAP, or you want to be a translator.

The fastest ways to learn Chinese, Speak Chinese are

We did a research and found out the best results would be as follow :-

- 1. Study on board. Go China and sign up a 6 months course. You’ll basically learn how to speak Chinese, how to read Chinese, understand it and use them in a correct way. This is a costly method, 6 months including accommodation + course fees + air ticket.

- 2. Buy a Chinese language software. There are lots of Chinese Language software that you can purchase online today, this software is great, especially if you are busy and unable to attend course, classes. But it’s quite limited unless you got some Chinese friends to practice with. Not that costly, most probably would be less than USD300.

- 3. Attend Chinese classes. This will be a substitute of Choice No 1, except you are doing it at your own country. Go to China town and I believe you can find one easily. But in long run, this is costly, it might takes you years to complete. Some Chinese teachers are quite boring because they tend to repeat the same chapter again and again.

We still recommend either Choice 1, or 2. Faster and more guaranteed. Choice 3, hmmm, depending how good the Chinese teachers are, you can ask around those friends who’ve successfully learn Chinese, ask them to recommend you the place.

People seem to be aware of the difficulties of written Chinese, with literally thousands of unrelated characters, which seem to follow no phonetic system. This thought alone is enough to scare away many would-be students.

What’s not so immediately obvious is just how straightforward and comparatively simple the spoken language is. The grammar and vocabulary that makes up day to day conversation in Mandarin Chinese is surprisingly basic and intuitive.

Now I’ll tell you why:

First of all, in spoken Chinese, fewere words are used to express oneself than seems to be the case in English. A good example of this is the word “shang”, meaning “up”. Shang is such a useful and ubiquitous word, it’s hard to give a full overview of it’s meaning, though it can be used in any of the following situations:

“shang” = up

shang mian = on top

shang huo che = get on the train (bus, plane etc)

shang da xue = start university (work, lesson, class etc)

Indeed, it’s understanding how simple words are used in a multitude of different situations, though differently from English, which fast-tracks the learning process.

Another example of the relative simplicity of spoken Chinese is the absence of articles, which are rife in English.

A, the, am, of and to don’t exist in Chinese and are the bane of English language learners the world over. For example; “I want to go to” is simply “I want go” in Chinese. Same too with “I want eat, I want see, I want buy”.

I frequently hear my girlfriend chatting on her cell-phone…

“Ni gan ma?”, literally “You do what?”, translates to “What are you doing?”.

Obviously, there is a longer and more convoluted way to express yourself in Chinese language, however it’s often overlooked just how easy things can be, when you really start to listen to native speakers.

A final example is the work “kan”, which means “to see”, look, watch, read, observe, pay attention to etc..

So to with “ting”, meaning “to hear”, or “listen”.

Trying to explain the difference between “see”, “look” and “watch” to a native Chinese speaker is not an easy task.

In conclusion, the budding Chinese language learner should not be perturbed by the seemingly insurmountable task of memorizing Chinese Characters. Day to day spoken Chinese is quite straight forward and simple. Focus your efforts on mastering the oral-aural basics and learning Chinese just might be fun!
